CAARE provides transitional housing to veterans in Durham NC
CAARE Inc., for over sixteen years, has been true to its mission of providing prevention and case management services to at-risk persons and their families in Durham by helping them with health and social resources that help alleviate isolation yet foster independence. To empower the population with counseling, health education and testing by establishing and maintaining networks and utilizing resources that addresses the health and social needs of the community; and to provide housing that is affordable and decent to low- to moderate-income people.
CAARE stands for “Case management of AIDS and Addiction through Resources and Education” was founded by Dr. Sharon Elliott-Bynum and her sister, Patricia Amaechi in 1995. The foundation now has been offering several types of assistance to those who are eligible. Their Health and Wellness program offers free services such as catering to dental needs and offering holistic services.
On the other hand, they also have education and employment assistance every Tuesday and Thursday from 10AM to 1PM. Through this, CAARE helps individuals prepare for the workplace. They also have a Benefits Bank which is a free service that helps people connect and learn more about their state and federal benefits.
Transitional Housing for Veterans
Finally, they have the Veterans Services which offers housing for male veterans who are returning back to their civilian life. When cash is short for move-in requirements, you could get help as thanks for your years of service in our military.
You can get help with a safe place to stay while you save money for your next move. You can get the support you need along with referrals for additional assistance programs that serve Durham residents. By getting help with transitional housing, you can more easily make the transition from military service to life as a civilian.
