TROSA, short for Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers is a two year innovative residential program that is geared towards substance abusers. The program helps affected individuals become more productive by providing education, work based vocational training, continuing care and comprehensive treatment. Their only eligibility criteria to join the program is that the individual must have a strong desire to change. Their treatment programs are rendered in a drug free residential setting, with treatment delivered in stages to increase both personal and social responsibility.

Governed by a board of directors, TROSA is a non-profit organization, and has helped over 1,200 people graduate and move on to become healthy and productive members in their community. After one year of attending the programs, eligible students can pursue college classes at the Durham Technical Community College.
The aftercare program at TROSA helps individuals make a safe transition from the program to the community.
