Emergency Food and Shelter Assistance (EFSA) stands to assist individuals as well as families, who are in need of emergency help with their payment of utility bills, rent and mortgage payments.  EFSA also provides temporary shelter and food in certain emergency situations.

Primary Programs
Emergency food (BD-1850): This is the program that serves a limited number of foods for those who are going through personal crisis. People who have no food or those who cannot buy food at retail costs are as well provided with a number of foods during the time of crisis.

Emergency shelter (BH-1800): Programs that provide a temporary or transitional shelter for the newcomers, people who are in crisis, or people who have no place to stay.

Rent payment assistance (BH-3800.7000): Programs that involve in helping people, who are at risk of eradication without assistance, with rental payments. Rent payment assistance programs might have some eligibility requirements, income, disability, need for example.

Utility service payment assistance (BV-8900.9300):  These programs help people, whose utilities have been shut off or are at risk, by paying full or a portion of the utility bills.
These also include non-emergency programs, for instance, those who funded through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), also known as LIEAP or HEAP in some states, that provide home energy assistance, generally in term of a credit, for the low-income households that apply.

The assistance is normally available once a calendar year.
Utility bill payment assistance programs may also have few eligibility requirements which include age, income, disability, need or other.

Other programs

Food Cleaning Programs (BD-2200): Programs that collect non-harvested fruits and vegetables from farmers who have crops left over, local gardeners, and who have fresh crops which are unable to use. Eligible individuals and families then may obtain food at no cost.

Rental Deposit Assistance (BH-3800.7250): These programs provide cash grants or loans for those who are in the way of acquiring rental housing and who can manage the rental payment every month. But who do not have the ability to pay the first or last month’s rent and any security deposits then they need to move in.

Subsidized Housing Administrative Organizations (BH-8300): These organizations involve in making rental housing more preferably and readily available by administering federal and local housing programs to the individuals and families that have low-income.
